Kimi-Ari-Kumi - Kimi Character Design

By day Kimi is a shy student, by night she hunts ghosts alongside two spirit guardians while investigating her mother's disappearance.

All I really had for an idea in the beginning was a girl in an oversized sweater and rainboots--the idea being that she throws these on over her school uniform so after the bell rings she's ready for action!

The story is supposed to be a little more melancholy and scary but still accessible for middle school kids--this design felt like the right combination of stylized and realistic.

Rigging is one of my talents so I thought out some of Kimi's mouth shapes, maybe some day I'll rig her?

Ghost hunting requires a lot of screaming so I did more scared expressions than I usually would.
