The first poster I created for my senior film project, Sapiens, the story of a super-intelligent gorilla named Marck who wants to be a scientist like his owner, Francis! This first poster was supposed to tease the story and leave the viewer curious!

The first poster for Sapiens features Marck's chair--originally conceived as a joke during the writing process, it came to symbolize the way Marck was viewed by Francis.
My team members liked the painting style I used in my poster so much we decided to adapt it to the film's layout coloring. This is the tutorial I created to help keep the painting style consistent.
